Luke Warm Water  (YES...Seriously!) 

 

Use luke warm water instead of hot water when washing your face...especially in the winter months.  This sounds so simple, but it can make a HUGE difference.  Changing soaps can also make a world of difference.

Yogurt, Oatmeal

Mix natural yogurt and oatmeal into a thick paste.  Apply to dry skin area and let it dry.  Wash with warm water.  This is one of many home remedies that will sooth dry skin.

Olive Oil

Use a cotton ball and apply olive oil to dry skin. Olive oil is a good home remedy used to ail dry skin.

Change Soaps

Find a natural homemade soap at a local flee market or country festival, and give it a try.  You might be amazed at the results!!          If you must have a use brand soap, switch it up and try a different brand for at least three days.   

Banana

Mash up bananas.  Apply to dry skin.  Let sit for 15 minutes. Wash with warm water.  Bananas will help the symptoms of dry skin and is one of many simple home dry skin remedies.

Olive Oil, Honey

Mix together olive oil and honey to create a syrup.  Apply to dry skin.  This home remedy should be used to sooth dry skin.

Aloe Vera Gel

Apply to aloe vera to dry skin.  Aloe is good remedy to use for soothing dry skin and sunburns. 

Egg Whites, Corn Flour

Mix 3 egg whites  with enough corn flour to make a paste.  Apply to dry skin area for 30 minutes and then wash with warm water. 

Papaya or Mango

Apply juice of a fresh papaya or mango, including the skin and seeds, to the dry skin area.  Let sit for 10 minutes and wash off with warm water.  Many fruits can make simple home remedies.

Avocado

Gently mash an avocado into a paste and apply to dry skin.  Let sit for 10 minutes. Wash with warm water.  

Oatmeal, Honey

Gently rub a mixture of cooked oatmeal and honey into a paste and apply to dry skin.  Let sit for 10 minutes. Wash with warm water.    

Milk, Nutmeg

Add some ground nutmeg powder to warm milk and mix together.  Apply to dry skin and leave on for 1 hour.  Wash off with warm water.  Milk is used in many home remedies due to its soothing properties.

Honey, Vinegar, Egg White

Lightly beat an egg white in a bowl.  Add a large spoonful of honey and one teaspoon of apple cider vinegar.  Apply the home remedy to the dry skin area and let the mixture dry.  Wash off with warm water.  This is also a good remedy to keep skin looking youthful.

 Tomatoes, Oatmeal, Honey

Slice up 2 ripe tomatoes in fine sections.  Add oatmeal, and honey to the ripe tomatoes.  Mix/mash into a paste.  Apply to dry skin and leave on for 20 minutes.   Wash off with warm water.  This is a great natural dry skin home remedy.

Things to Avoid for Healthy Skin: 

Alcohol and Caffeine

Avoid or drink sparingly alcoholic and caffeinated beverages.  If you must indulge, drink extra water to keep skin hydrated. 

Itching

Try not to itch problem areas.  This will only make matters worse.  Use one of our home remedies to coat the skin and wrap the area in a cloth bandage.
